On October 16, 2009 Babson College, the world leader in entrepreneurial education, hosted the annual Ideas Into Action Business Plan Competition. Three finalists were selected from 30 submitted Power Point presentations and documents describing their business idea with market analysis, opportunities and competitive advantages. Walter & Shuffain shareholder Jonathan Hitter served as one of the five judges on the panel.
A team of sophomores from Bryant University was awarded a $27,500 prize for developing a water purification business plan, as part of Babson College's annual Ideas Into Action Business Plan Competition.
Led by Morgan Morris, the PURO team has designed a portable and customizable individual water filtration bottle. The winner was selected from a group of three finalists, including two teams from Babson College. Each team was given six minutes to deliver a rocket pitch followed by a Q&A session in front of a judging panel.
The award was presented shortly after the presentations at the 2009 Babson Entrepreneurship Forum.
