Active listening brings out client questions and issues that allow Elena to serve them in new ways.

Elena began her accounting career in 2012 when she joined Walter Shuffain as a staff accountant. Quickly advancing to a senior accountant two years later, she continued her career advancement to supervisor in 2016 and manager in 2018.

She first became interested in accounting after taking a class in college. She performs audit and tax services for clients in variety of industries: healthcare, agriculture, real estate and technology. This includes dentists, medical offices and greenhouses. She also works with professional services firms. She provides monthly or quarterly business consulting to clients while addressing their tax and accounting questions.

In addition to managing client work, Elena actively participates in the company’s leadership and staff development initiatives. She encourages and develops younger staff through mentoring and advanced training.

After receiving her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Stonehill College, Elena went on to earn her Masters in Accountancy degree from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.
