Training audit staff and seniors to be better accountants through every engagement improves the overall experience for all clients.
Andy began his career at Walter Shuffain in 2013 as a staff accountant, earning promotions to become a manager in 2021. He spends much of his time working on accounting, audit and tax services engagements for various firm clients. His clients are mostly in real estate or non-profits, but he also works with manufacturers and investment firms.
Andy has worked in the accounting profession since high school after taking accounting and financial planning classes. He enjoys observing the inner workings of each business and building rapport with clients while helping them grow their businesses. In addition to his client work, Andy is active on the firm’s coaching committee and oversees in-charge training at the firm.
Andy is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bryant University. After joining the firm, he earned a Master’s of Science in Accountancy degree in 2014 from Bridgewater University.
Personal
Andy and his wife, Mary, enjoy traveling. When possible, they take road trips to Northern Georgia with their family dog, Rufus. In his spare time, Andy enjoys playing golf and watching the New England sports teams with friends and family.
My ideal would be to watch Walter Shuffain grow, and see our clients grow along with us. When you bring strong communication together with clear expectations, then meet or exceed those expectations, that’s a win for me. I would also love to continue travelling. Maybe we’ll get an RV and take an extended road trip; see the entire United States! That would be the dream.
