Professional

Agreed upon procedures can seem similar, but it takes a level of professional judgement and thinking outside the box to determine the best way to achieve each client’s objectives.

Elyse Roberts provides audit and tax services for business clients in the private equity, manufacturing and real estate industries. She began her accounting career in 2007 at Walter Shuffain and works directly with clients to advise them through various accounting, tax and financial situations, including navigating the phases of M&A transactions as well as methods to improve their operations. When clients have accounting or tax questions, Elyse is always available to answer them as she collaborates with her in-house team to make sure their needs are met and satisfied.

Clients turn to her for assistance establishing a clear and accurate financial narrative to ensure that capital is available and expectations are met.

She maintains strong relationships with her audit and tax clients by keeping tabs on their personal and business finances throughout the year. This allows her to deliver deep knowledge on appropriate financial processes and procedures because she’s in the thick of it year-round. During the day, she helps clients develop procedures that make sense for their concerns and goals, oversees full audits and required tax filings and manages her team.

Managing multiple engagements with different teams at the same time, her leadership oversight and willingness to provide broad team assistance helps the firm achieve its high client service standards. She is a member of the training and corporate social responsibility (CSR) committees at Walter Shuffain.

Elyse earned her accounting degree at Providence College and her Masters in Taxation degree from Bryant University.

She enjoys spending time with her family and friends at her vacation home in Maine as well. She also tries to find time for snowmobiling which, she admits, can prove challenging during a busy tax season.

Life is too short and unpredictable to spend time worrying about the small things. I want to enjoy my life, take it easy and watch my kids grow.
