Janet’s deep knowledge base and mastery skills in communicating with clients make her invaluable in navigating delicate personal estate planning issues.

Janet E. Scott is celebrating more than 40 years in practice. Since joining Walter Shuffain in 1980, Janet has developed long-term relationships with our clients and team members. She is entrusted with the responsibility of preparing and reviewing tax returns for partnership, corporate and nonprofit clients as well as high-net-worth individuals.

In addition to tax work, Janet provides accounting, auditing and consulting services for clients involved in real estate, wholesale and retail sales, manufacturing and professional services. Janet also handles trusts and estates for our clients, which includes Fiduciary Income Tax returns, Estate and Gift Tax returns, estate planning and serving as Trustee.

She graduated from Bentley College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and earned her Master of Science in Accounting in 1983, also from Bentley.

Janet is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of CPAs. She has served as a member of the Helvering Society Tax Roundtable and the Construction Committee of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants.
