Staying ahead of changes and deadlines defines Jill’s approach to exceptional client service while keeping clients informed.

Jill Blumen joined Walter Shuffain in 2002 after spending a few years with a former “Big Six” accounting firm. She manages the firm’s growing 401(k) audit practice and oversees client engagements ranging from tax-related services to audits, reviews and compilations. Her clients are primarily involved in the real estate industry, professional services and venture capital funds.

One of her primary areas of focus is overseeing assurance engagements for client 401(k) plans, adhering to ERISA and Department of Labor rules and regulations. Doing multiple engagements a year, Jill is well versed in the process to keep each audit efficient while providing guidance to clients on proper and timely administration. Reviewing participant contributions, timely employer contributions and proper adherence to plan documents are a few of the ways she helps clients manage their plans effectively.

Known for her organizational skills and commitment to clear communications, Jill enjoys approaching each new day as unique and full of possibility. She likes working with different teams and different projects. Jill is also a member of the firm’s corporate social responsibilities committee and the coaching committee through which she can support ethical firm operations and retention of top talent.

Graduating from Colgate University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, Jill went on to earn her MS/MBA from Northeastern University Graduate School of Professional Accounting.
