Todd Ellis is a proven financial leader who, with his team, provides proactive accounting solutions from basic accounting services to CFO consulting to businesses and nonprofits of all sizes.  

Clients rely on Todd’s experience as a CPA, Business owner, and Chief Financial Officer to provide critical accounting, tax, and advisory support. His expertise includes working with clients to develop and operate accounting systems, perform accounting work such as bill pay, customer invoicing, monthly financial close, audit preparation, tracking, reporting, and acting on financial results by developing and producing various Key Performance Indicators. He also helps clients manage cash flow, work with lending institutions, and develop tax strategies to maximize net profit to owners. Todd’s expertise spans various industries with particular emphasis on dental and medical practices and non-profits and start-ups.

As a former CFO, Todd understands how to generate and interpret accurate and timely financial information, including the full accounting cycle for domestic and multinational companies. This is accomplished by leveraging technology and ensuring the right people are matched with the correct tasks. This results in him being the first call a client makes when they have questions. Many businesses headquartered outside the U.S. reach out to Todd when they desire to expand into the US market.

Todd has experience helping organizations plan and execute global expansion into the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and India and has worked closely with companies located throughout Europe, Asia, and South America.

Todd is also passionate about Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. Before joining Walter Shuffain, Todd was a Partner in the Client Accounting Services practice at a top 50 regional CPA firm. In this role, Todd was an active member of the firm’s DEI Council, which was essential in building strategies to advance the firm’s commitment to DEI.

Todd served in the U.S. Army, where he was a First Lieutenant. He also holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Northeastern University and a Master's in Taxation from Suffolk University. Todd is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of CPAs.
